Curcuma is a plant of the genus Turmeric, native to the Malay Peninsula (northern Thailand). It is an attractive flower that has been gradually gaining popularity in Japan recently.
In Pa Hingam National Park, Thailand's national park, curcuma will be in full bloom from June to August. The pink curcuma all around heralds the arrival of summer.
Since curcuma resembles a lotus flower, it was originally used as a Buddhist flower during the Obon and equinoctial equinox seasons in Japan. However, in recent years, breed improvement has progressed, and it is shipped from summer to autumn.
The main production areas in Japan are Fukuoka and Shizuoka Prefectures, and in Aichi Prefecture where we are based, Hekinan City is the largest production area for curcuma.

Curcuma is mainly classified into four types: white, pink, red, and green.
In addition, there are small to large varieties for each, so you can choose your favorite color and shape.
Kakoen will start cultivating new varieties from 2023, and the following three varieties are available.
